Wrote this poem when I was 19

If I were me

Away from this daily strife

Hollow soul of a being they call life,

If I were me

I wouldn’t be

If I were me

I would see, every daylight on the

Horizon of another sea.

If I were me

I would break loose from this pain in vain

If I were me , I’d let my

soul spread it’s incandescence again

If I were me

I would be footloose on the unknown path

If I were me

I would leave forever but never depart

If I were me

I would be a tramp on a trail,

If I were me

I wouldn’t hide behind this materialistic veil.

If I were me

I wouldn’t be

If I were me

I wouldn’t see

things that don’t fill me with glee

If I were me

I would unroll the chart of time

If I were me

I would revert back to my prime

If I were me

But only if I were me

This wish as limitless as the sea

If I were me

I just couldn’t be

What I am today and what I may be

If I were me

I just couldn’t be.
