I wanted to point out that I finished reading Bourdain's 2 classics — “A cooks tour in the search of the perfect meal” and “Kitchen Confidential”. I would highly recommend both of them, the former more than the latter.

In Kitchen Confidential, the second last chapter consists of commandments to make it in the kitchen business. I found it really interesting. I think a lot of it translates to our world as well.

1) Be fully committed

2) Learn a second language(Spanish)

3) Don’t steal

4) Always be on time

5) Never make excuses or blame others

6) Never call in sick

7) Lazy, sloppy and slow are bad

8) Be prepared to witness every variety of human folly and injustice

9) Assume the worst

10) Try not to lie

11) Avoid narcissistic sociopaths

12) Think about that resume

13) Read

14) Have a sense of humor
