I was 19 when I wrote this. I am super-pretentious still, imagine what I was back then.

In a third-world country with colossal conservative views, it’s a difficult task to be bothered by the pedantry of romance and what the society calls “love.” However, as the pages of history have taught us and will continue to do so, the new replaces the old, and ignorance is subverted by the angels of time. These angels of time bring with themselves the tools of this metamorphosis, “The nukes — Education.” Yes, Education is that unique weapon of bigotry destruction that never goes unnoticed or inefficient.
In infancy, we are laid upon the basic tenets of living in harmony and co-existence. Although we take indefinite lengths of time to reach the conclusion, it’s never too late to realize that of all the sciences taught, “Moral Science” is the most important. Love thyself and love thy neighbors — The commandments often form the cornerstone of the proverbial “VALUES” that govern our civilized lives. With values, we welcome the ultimate sensation associated with our species — Love. A lot has been said about love and its thrills, and why it’s never the most uninteresting of topics of discussion. Leaving the onus of the glorification of love on the poets, the more concerned lot would be swayed towards the burning issue of narcissism that protrudes from the present social media.
The growth of social media sparked a great revolution. As cliched as the above statement goes, the banality of it has been stretching off to a calamity. It is up to the ardent members of the Luddite legion to be ruffled by the haunting aspect of this tragic misstep. The technological revolutions, for all their fruits, have attracted caterpillars of ignorance and a veritable disrespect for love. Adding value to the external perception of validation is a sordid example of human degradation. Assumptions of one’s beauty and setting a yardstick with varying definitions are both breaches of civilized decorum and tenets of humility when one has the perspective of an absolute outsider.
If an alien were to grace the unadulterated lands of our native planet and be neutral in its discretion, it would rate humans as the most insignificant species in the chain of life. Our absence would most certainly not be missed by other species. So much for the individual propensity for material attractions, nature usually discards or expresses disinterest in our accepted norms. A mere lash in the cosmological frame and people seem unaffected by their mediocrity and assert it by precluding money from existence, making it the most farcical inhibition on the planet. It was this corrupt knavery that led to the greatest horrors of human history. The lookout for supremacy on all superficial counts inspired millions to die needlessly.
Of all the instances that manage to capture the rapture of the futility of monetary gains, Charlie’s grandpa in the movie, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” said, “Are you sure you wanna sell the golden ticket for something as common as money?” The elephant in the room is “material futility and the severity of its opaqueness.” The opaqueness is what forms the crux of all the problems that we face in this regard.
It would suffice to end the argument with the water-diamond soliloquy where water is proved more valuable than a diamond regardless of its price. However, the quest is deeper than an argumentative jiggle-wack. Even the most naive observers of time possess it in themselves to dismiss the notion of monetary supremacy; however, they end up succumbing to the same, under the pretense of having a practical, real-life. And as always, the plebeians stick their souls to the flat circle of time. All the things they’ve ever done or will ever do, they’ll do them again and again and again.
