Parents!, Society!, and the previous generation! Are we the YOUTH at a grudge match with them all the time? It’s almost as if genetics demand parents to hate their own little shits!
Almost every generation begrudges the ways and lives of the generations that succeed it. I think there’s nothing as certain as that other than death and change perhaps.
Every time you hear an old man go, “You kids…” or “In my time…” or “These days…” — just stop listening! — Take it as an evolutionary response from the older members to justify the abatement of learning. I would go so far as to say that this is probably a good time for the bespoke members of society to consider some form of euthanasia. Now while this may cause one to raise eyebrows — considering a lot of times these folks might be our parents, however from a species’ perspective — as a whole — too many members of a society that harbor similar negative energies are bound to cause a fallout.
The consequences of such a big ball of negativity of the times are often easy to see. I’D GO SO FAR AS TO SAY, that almost all big problems in history — contemporary or medieval — were primarily a long-standing clash of energies — the urge of the current generation to live and the senility of the old to hold back.
All the institutions that are in place, all edifices that govern our lives, and all systems that build the machinery of the state are spitting images of this clash. Be it diverse values, clashing minds, or simply — a disdain for the extant — I don’t think we are all ever supposed to gel together.
Beyond being conspicuous and tragic, this is confounding. As a species, we should expect this of our progeny. The reason simply being ….. education. We en masse, insist on educating our children!
A big part of education is, knowing what you have been told until now and then using it to look and gander beyond what was known before. To think and to imagine beyond the worlds already discovered! One is supposed to stand on the shoulders of the existing giants and see further than what has been seen. That’s how everything works — humanity, evolution, and progress. This is precisely why no matter what, “the present time” will always be the best time to be alive(on average). That’s why we educate our kids — to circle the point.
And so when these “kids” bring up all the new ideas and thoughts in front of the old guard — the old guard gets perturbed. One is hard-pressed to wonder -> “Bitch, didn’t you expect this already when you were sending me to school?”
